Powerful search across all data directly in Outlook

Karben, 16.05.2023 - In many cases, the workday begins with opening the e-mail inbox. It would often be desirable to be able to access other important data and information from this environment in addition to e-mails. With the new EMA® Outlook extension, ARTEC IT Solutions offers for the first time the possibility to use the powerful search function of the data management and data security platform EMA directly in Outlook*. Searching and finding data from a wide variety of sources is thus drastically simplified. The search via the EMA Outlook extension extends not only to e-mails, but can also include all other company data available in the EMA Live Archive. These can be, for example, files, scanned documents, voice recordings of telephone calls, invoices, delivery bills, letters and even SAP* documents or data from other ERP systems. All important company data is visible directly in Outlook thanks to the new extension.

The new EMA Outlook extension is designed as a native Windows* application and does not require the use of web technologies. This supports seamless integration without creating technical administration overhead. The adaptation to the familiar "look & feel" together with the self-explanatory, intuitive operation simultaneously ensures that users remain in their familiar Outlook environment. This means that no further instruction or training is required. To facilitate the handling of unstructured data, the personal folder structures of the file server can also be mapped in Outlook via folder synchronization.

The new EMA Outlook extension provides exactly this functionality and can act as a real performance booster for the mail client. With EMA, Outlook becomes a Google for corporate data, so to speak, which can revolutionize searching and, above all, finding information and files," says Jerry J. As a modularly structured live archive, EMA covers all processes along the use of company data - from central recording to secure, legally compliant storage and long-term archiving. All relevant sources and unstructured data such as paper-based documents, e-mails, file server files or voice recordings are covered. At the same time, EMA provides effective protection against cyberattacks and manipulation by keeping a completely separate copy of all corporate data: Protected by security concepts such as encryption, digital signatures and trusted computing technology, all data is stored in a multi-secured "data vault".
