Products in the VSTOR Vault product family include a number of powerful DAS, iSCSI, and SAN arrays that support medium to high capacities. All models are extensible to ensure that you can add capacity as your business grows. Versatile Options

VSTOR Vault is available in a variety of models built to suit your environment and storage needs. The product family includes DAS (direct-attach) and SAN arrays with SAS, iSCSI or Fibre Channel connectivity options. It is available in 2U and 4U form factors. You can mix and match drives as needed, in order to create a solution that fits your needs. The VSTOR Vault expansion enclosures offer 12-drive, 24-drive, and 60-drive options, which allow you to create a system capable of managing up to 180 or 192 drives in a single storage array. This ensures that you can add capacity as your business grows. VSTOR Vault supports 2.5" or 3.5" drives with different technologies and capacities. Use solid-state drives, high-performance SAS drives, or economical NL-SAS drives to tailor our solution to your needs as necessary.

First-Class Performance, Functionality, and Versatility

The VSTOR Vault product family is the next generation of affordable storage. With support for 12Gbit SAS, 10GBASE-T Ethernet iSCSI, and 16Gbit Fibre Channel connectivity, VSTOR Vault helps you stay flexible. Retain the freedom of choosing the storage connectivity that helps your business grow best. The individual models also offer 8GB of cache space per controller. If protecting data is a priority for your organization, combine VSTOR Vault storage with the backup features provided by the VSTOR and EMA product families in order to receive the best possible protection. VSTOR Vault storage systems provide the highest standards of reliability, without sacrificing quality and performance. Using the latest generation of storage arrays, VSTOR Vault scales up to 192 hard drives¹ on 2U models, and up to 180 hard drives¹ on dense 4U array configurations using the same expansion enclosures.

¹ The standard configuration supports up to 120 HDDs. Support for 121-192 HDDs or 121-180 HDDs is a premium feature.

Mass Storage Consolidation and Virtualization

The VSTOR Vault 10GbE iSCSI SAN is ideal for network storage consolidation and virtualization deployments containing up to 64 host servers. The 10GbE iSCSI array series delivers high capacity and excellent performance while offering versatile options, which include a 2U 12- or 24-drive chassis, and a dense chassis that supports housing up to 60 hard drives in a small 4U footprint.

Proven Fibre Channel-Based Network Storage

The VSTOR Vault Fibre Channel array series is ideal for data intensive applications. Supporting up to 16Gbit Fibre Channel, existing investments in Fibre Channel are protected with a solution that is both scalable and reliable. The VS3 Fibre Channel arrays deliver both high data transfer rates and high efficiency.

Highly Available Mass Storage

The VSTOR Vault SAS array series incorporates the latest 12Gbit SAS technology into the VSTOR Vault mass storage product family. The VS3 12Gbit SAS series is ideal for shared storage and virtualized environments. These arrays offer exceptional flexibility, scalability, and performance. Similar to the other models in the VSTOR Vault product family, the SAS series has chassis options for twelve and twenty-four drives, and a 4U dense array option supporting up to 60 drives. Models with 8GB cache dual-controllers can connect up to four highly available servers or eight non-redundant servers for balanced performance in mixed physical and virtualized environments.

Performance

The VSTOR Vault VS1200 D, VS1220 D, and the space-optimized VS3060e dense enclosure are direct-attach 6Gbit/s SAS storage solutions supporting 12, 24, or 60-drives. They can be connected to EMA appliances and other server systems using the integrated or supplied SAS controllers. Optionally available expansion enclosures supporting the same number of drives provide additional capacity for high-performance and data-intensive applications when you need it.

Capacity

The VSTOR Vault VS3060e dense enclosure was optimized for space and was designed to scale. It integrates seamlessly with EMA appliances and all other rack-mount server systems. Its small footprint takes up less space and saves on power and cooling. Using just 4U, the VS3060e can scale to 180 hard drives when used with a VS dense array, and up to 240 hard drives when attached to a server. Supported hard drives include 3.5" or 2.5" SAS, near-line SAS, and SSDs

A Modular Approach for Added Flexibility

The modularity of the VSTOR Vault product family enables you to easily upgrade an existing system, and helps you evolve existing storage infrastructures to meet changing business needs For example, migrating from a standard, single-controller solution to a highly available, dual-controller solution simply requires you to slide in a second controller module. The system takes care of the rest, and you do not need to worry about data migration or extended downtime. This modularity also offers easy and economical ways to expand the capabilities of ARTEC's EMA product line, as well as various other server systems.

Powerful Mass Storage Management

The VSTOR Vault product family is supported by a robust suite of easy-to-use and intelligent storage management software. In the VS array series, the Modular Disk Storage Manager software is available for products based on ARTEC OS and other operating systems. It combines an intuitive interface with a suite of wizard-guided tools and a task-based management structure. This significantly reduces the complexity of performing installation, configuration, management, and diagnostic tasks.

Customize Drives and Performance to Your Needs

The VSTOR Vault product family gives you complete freedom when selecting mass storage media. Customize performance and available space to minimize the cost per gigabyte while satisfying your application and business requirements. To satisfy the near-line speed, performance, and reliability requirements of mainstream and server applications, near-line SAS drives (10,000 RPM or 15,000 RPM), self-encrypting drives, and solid-state drives can be used in all arrays of the VS product family. If data protection is a priority, the VS3 array series can be equipped with self-encrypting drives (SEDs) in order to increase security.
